International Students, Inc. wants to be ready to act swiftly in the event that WSU decides that it is necessary to close the dorms during the COVID-19 crises. It is important to know that at this point THERE ARE NO PLANS OF CLOSING THE DORMS. This is merely a preemptive move on the part of ISI so that we are ready if and when the need arises.
In order to help assure the safety of our students, we need some way to vet our host families. Consequently, we are only accepting applications from families that regularly attend a church that partners with ISI Wichita. This gives us the ability to consult a trusted source (our partner churches) when vetting prospective host families.
Please note, that although ISI is in communication with WSU, and ISI is keeping WSU informed of our intentions to help provide housing if the need arises, we are acting independently of WSU as a way to serve WSU and international students.
Disclaimer: Nether ISI nor WSU can guarantee the health of any student placed in your home. By hosting students, you are assuming the risk of inviting a student into your home who may have health challenges, including COVID-19. You will be allowed to discuss the risk factor with the student(s) before agreeing to allow them to move in with you.
